Video moments. Video clips?

On the 4th of December 2009, the play “Videoclipe. Videoclipuri?” (“Video moments. Video clips?”) premiered had its first representation at the U.N. House in Bucharest, as part of the “Women in Shadows. Shadows” campaign, backed by the U.N. Information Centre for Romania.
The play is based on the text “Stiati ca trenurile spun povesti cu infante?” (Did you know that the trains are telling stories about baby girls?) by the successful playwright Saviana Stanescu, and tackles the theme of the condition of modern-way women , transposed as artistic context into an imaginary word, populated by baby girls.
The play is about the mysteries, silences and hidden truths lived by all women, a show that speaks with a comic undertone about every woman’s fundamental truths.
The means of expression used in this play are the spoken word, the music, pantomime and dance. With additional presence of talented percussionists Lucian Maxim and Alexandru Anastasiu, and actresses Adelaida Zamfira and Ioana Marcoiu, it succeeds in offering a hypnotic performance. It has been scenically coordinated by the choreographer Andreea Duta, with stage direction by Anca Maria Colteanu.
The show combines a formula of experimental and classical theatre. It is a thrilling comedy based on the power of emotion confronting its spectators with a modern, hard hitting and sensitive script. This is a show with two actresses embodying the the life - stage and personalities experienced by women. It is a eulogy to female age and beauty with its profound dramatic aspects heightened by spectacular costumes and the live soundtrack of percussion instruments.
The apparent story of a young actress, who wishes to succed in theatre but also in life is a motive for an authentic performance by Adelaida Zamfira.
After playing for two seasons in 1999 – 2001 participating in various festivals, and launching the first volume of plays published by Saviana Stanescu, resuming this show has delighted again to a wide category of theatre spectators, once again. It is scheduled for performances in an established location, but also for tours around the country and abroad.
